Collage, Stitch and watercolour

This is a very full mixed media experience of a workshop ... you don't need any previous experience to enjoy this but it is a fun one that does allow you to further your watercolour experience or expand your printing prowess and to bring textiles into your art. . .

STEP ONE :
We begin by printing a selection of interesting papers ,using flowers, grasses, and texture blocks using a deliciously squidgy gel plate. We will be printing onto different weights of paper, wet strength tracing paper, leaves of a book and printer paper. We will be adding detail and layers to these papers by using stencils and stamps.

STEP TWO:

After the papers dry we can now have some fun with the backgrounds and papers we've made.
Using watercolour paint we can colour wash the calico backgrounds and move onto designing our painting using the paper we made and we can begin collaging these papers onto them .
We can add fabric pieces and stitching to our paintings should we want to add another layer of detail with both machine and hand stitching.

This workshop is for 4 hours and you will leave with a finished painting and mount for your work alongside your stash of backgrounds and sheets of collage paper for future projects.
It's an addictive art medium ....you can just keep adding layer upon layer to a watercolour background . Just knowing when to stop is probably more our challenge!

Price for 4 hour workshop is £55
